Torquay has been one of the UK's top holiday destinations since Victorian Times when the gentry promenaded, bathing huts were wheeled down to the beaches and anyone who was anyone had an attractive villa overlooking the sea.
Torbay has topped the charts for the second year in a row with the best beaches in the country, scooping a fantastic 15 awards - more than anywhere else in the country.
The prestigious Blue Flag will continue to fly high over Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Paignton, Broadsands and Breakwater this summer. In addition, 11 of the 15 designated bathing waters in Torbay are mentioned as recommended beaches in the Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide.
